Michele is a licensed clinical psychologist with an additional license in Marital Family Therapy. She taught at the graduate level at California State University for almost 35 years, first at Cal State Northridge and then at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Simultaneously, she was Senior Psychologist, then Assistant Director, then Clinical Director at four community mental health centers in Southern California. Because she couldn't stop herself, and no one else did, she also participated in the preparation of the licensing exams for potential MFTs, while she was a Director and a Professor. Michele has written several research articles for professional journals, participated in the sponsorship of various conferences, and lived in Eretria, Africa teaching a semester on sabbatical. Additionally, she taught Communication in Couple Relationships in Kenya, Africa several years prior to the position in Eretria. She has traveled to Havana, Cuba to conduct research on their mental health system (it’s top notch). Michele has a working relationship with a national charity, Veterans Foundation, Inc. in which she conducts research on the effects of a combat veteran’s PTSD on his/her children. So far, she has found that the children of these veterans suffer as significantly as their parent.
Michele has retired from the university, from community mental health, and the state licensing board, finally and is currently enjoying her first passion, art. She has paintings and charcoal drawings around the community for sale. Michele has a private practice where she provides mental health services to veterans and other community members
